This is an advance workshop, previous experience with metalsmithing and enameling is needed, basic enamel on steel knowledge is encouraged.

This will be a small group workshop that will meet 3 times over the course of a week with all demos happening from 11-1pm est. Recordings of demos will be sent out shortly after the close of each day’s class, attendance during this time is encouraged but not mandatory. Additional evening Zoom Office Hours will be offered for students to login and ask questions, show work in progress and get feedback.

Workshop will have a max of 10 students

Techniques covered include:

• Basic steel fabrication with jewelry equipment

• Advanced liquid-form enamel techniques

• Working with sifted enamels

• Ceramic pigments and other enamel supplemental materials

• Post-firing surface treatments and finishing

• Design and fabrication troubleshooting
