Statement:

I have often found inspiration through the observance and intimate awareness of the places I have lived. With each geographic change over the last 18 years I have become more attuned to the natural and man-made attributes that make a location unique.  Each move is an invitation to re-examine my influences and allow my work to shift. It is an opportunity to understand myself and my experiences in the context of a specific place.  I looked to the built environment for their formal qualities: materials, shapes, color and surface quality.  The collection of these qualities make each location unique and are reflected in the work.

In recent years, the landscape of my life shifted significantly with the arrival of my daughter in 2019.  What was once an eye for architecture and the world outside has become dominated by the domestic, intimate experience of raising a child.  As with every major shift or geographic move that has happened in my life previously- my perspective has changed and with it so has my studio practice.  My most recent work grows out of the experience of motherhood and the observance of young life taking form.
